Air Source Heat Pump
How it Works:
Air source heat pumps (ASHPs) absorb heat from the outside air which can then be used to heat your property and hot water system.
An air source heat pump is electrically driven and utilises a refrigerant cycle, similar to a ground source heat pump but extracting heat from the air. This heat from the air is absorbed at low temperatures into a fluid inside specially installed pipes. The fluid then passes through a compressor which raises it to a higher temperature, ready to be delivered to your heating and hot water systems. Air source heat pumps offer an extremely reliable and efficient source of energy for your heating system.
Solar Thermal Panels
How it Works:
Solar thermal panels, called collectors, are fitted to your roof. These collect heat from the sun and use it to heat up water which is stored in a hot water cylinder. A twin coiled cylinder is usually required. When the temperature in the collectors is at optimum the pump will activate and circulate this heat around the coil in the cylinder which will heat the water.
